The increasing demand for zero lost time injuries and creating a comfortable and eco-friendly work environment has driven Tescorp to build a new range of winches that take the guess work out of pulling cable. Not only does the winch prevent overĀstrain and over-speed of the conductor, it intelligently keeps the engine to lowest speed possible at all times to improve operator comfort by lowering operating noise.
The flagship of Tescorp's impressive winch range is the 35kN winch specifically designed for the open trench and underground cable installation industry. The advancement in technology has allowed Tescorp to develop a cost effective control system that allows the operator to preset the pulling forces and speeds, which cannot be exceeded no matter what the operator does. Coupled with a comprehensive data logging facility, this winch safely reduces the risk of damaging conductors with inexperienced operators at the helm.
Tescorp has been manufacturing specialty machinery in North Queensland since the early 90's, combining the experience of a well established hydraulics company, with the support of modern mechanical engineering tools. Using software like Solidworks, Tescorp is able to reduce the material cost in its winches by doing accurate stress simulations with relative ease.
The available winches range from small capstan style winches up to large bull wheel winches, both skid and trailer mounted with the largest bull wheel style winch pulling 65 kN at 25m/min. All of the winches manufactured use a sound attenuating device to help reduce the engine noise, helping keep the operating conditions less than 85 dB in normal operation.
The increasing demand for iron worldwide has forced engineering companies like Tescorp to lean down their designs to keep costs low. With the aid of software, the mechanical engineers are able to deliver custom robust design that not only meet the harsh working environment, but also keep the bottom line as low as possible.
